Clinical staff spends a considerable part of their time on paperwork and phone calls, instead of being with the patients.
The story of Matthea explains three problems in hospitals today and how Jery could solve them.
To schedule a surgery, Matthea currently has to call or talk to each participating team member. This consumes precious time.
Jery allows to setup surgeries digitally. Changes get broadcasted to all team members automatically.
If a tool is broken, it's hard for Matthea to notify maintenance. So often she encounters the same tool in later surgeries interrupting her workflow.
Matthea can set up digital reports via the chat function. She gets notified when the problem is fixed.
Supply and demand of tools aren't always matched, which causes maintenance unexpected night shifts and Matthea to wait for tools.
The central, digital schedule synchronizes all activities, easing coordination. It also allows just-in-time tool rentals.
We did shadowing in clinics and developed a diagram to comprehend and depict the sterile goods process.
With the gathered insights we identified the main problem: The lack of coordination in between departments.
We designed posters to illustrate the functionality of the platform, as well as an interactive prototype to demonstrate specific use cases.
